Modelling Travel Demand for HRM's Regional PlanAs part of a regional planning process for this city of 380,000 it was necessary to evaluate the level of travel demand that resulted from various socio-economic growth forecasts. Delphi-MRC conducted a calibration procedure on the existing regional transportation model and used forecast data from four regional growth scenarios to test impacts for the planning horizon year 2026. The calibration process resulted in a screenline result within 2%. The software used by HRM is the Quick Response II (QRS II) tool. The model provided HRM staff with information on the ability of the roadway network to support the forecast vehicle travel demand in 2026, based on the regional growth estimated under the Regional Plan policy. « Return to Trasportation Systems Analysis
