Highway 407 Road Safety Review

Road Safety Audits

Road safety audits provide independent road-safety oriented reviews of proposed facilities at various stages of the planning/design process, as well as existing roads and construction zones.

Highway 26 Road Safety and Operational Review

Comprehensive Road Safety & Operational Reviews

Comprehensive Road Safety & Operational Reviews extend the road safety audit principle, combining additional quantitative data and analysis to provide both diagnostic and prescriptive advice to the client. Such reviews can take many forms, from passing lane analysis for two-lane, two-way rural highways to sophisticated simulations of toll plazas, border crossing operations, and complex intersections and interchanges.

Highway 104 Safety Review

Network Screening

Network screening assessments, often termed hazardous road location programming, involve the safety-oriented assessment of all or parts of specific portions of an agency's road network. They are designed to help assess overall needs and priorities for road safety infrastructure investments, and often form the basis for the initial design and development of an infrastructure-improvement-oriented safety management system.

Multidisciplinary Research & Development/Special Projects

Multidisciplinary research and development/special projects activities play a vital role in our continuing work, not only on a contract basis for our clients, but also as an internal investment in developing tools and knowledge resources to support our own skillset and staff development needs. Our contract R&D capabilities are usually aimed at responding to specific client needs ranging from the relatively straightforward development of terms of reference for complex, high-level research studies, to their execution and the development of both analytical and knowledge management systems to support the implementation of their results.

Value Engineering

Value engineering is gaining increasing recognition by road agencies as a means of ensuring that their investments in infrastructure development yield the best possible value for dollar. Value Engineering (VE) studies explore various design and operational tradeoffs that can have important impacts on road safety performance. Our road safety experts work with the VE leader and team in developing the necessary understanding of issues both before and during their process. Doing this helps ensure that the measure of value received includes the critical element of road safety performance.
